Winter Feast for the Eyes - A Longwood Christmas

An easy escape from the winter doldrums for those living in southeastern Pennsylvania is
(through January 9, 2011).
Glorious displays of color, light and water fill a 4.5 acre complex of conservatory buildings.  A stroll through the grounds offers Christmas lights and fountain displays accompanied by music and lights.

Sit back and enjoy a few glimpses of A Longwood Christmas.

Even an orchid wreath!

I am so jealous, being from SE PA and all, that I did not get to Longwood this year, or even last. But so glad you did. The photos are great and I adore the orchid wreath. They do up Christmas so beautifully.

GWGT: It had been a long time for me, too. I grew up about 5 miles from Longwood and we went to the Christmas display every year, but I hadn't seen it in over 25 years. It was great fun and brought back many happy memories. I was glad to hear on Blotanical that you finally made it this year! Happy New Year!

Cat: It is a special treat - as I said above it had been 25 years since I'd been to the Christmas display and it is quite extravagant. Wishing you a wonderful New Year and many new experiences as you practice "espy.

One: I'm so glad you visited and enjoyed the photos! Wishing you a great 2011!

Tatyana: Thanks for stopping by and leaving such kind words! Have a wonderful New Year!

Annie: I appreciate your visit! Photos truly can't do the display justice - it's immense, stunning and includes a variety of themes. Wishing you a 2011 filled with great friends and good gardening.

I love visiting Longwood at Christmas. The outside lighting is my favorite part, but I guess that's hard to photograph. Happy New Year, Carolyn

Carolyn: The grounds with all the lighting is magical, but my camera isn't up to catching it. I'm glad you are able to enjoy it all, too. Wishing you a wonderful 2011!
