Chartreuse Creeping Jenny, bold textured Ornamental Kale and lavender Chrysanthemum. |
Mums are an expected fall show.
Try some of these unexpected combinations to
take your display from ordinary to exceptional.
Orange mums paired with
purple petunias that are still going strong
are bold and beautiful.
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and
Columbine (Aguilegia foliage)
hide leggy stems and set off bright mums.
Subtle Bluebeard (Caryopteris) flowers
beautifully set off
orange mums.
Mums are an exclamation point of color to Fountain Grass (Pennisetum alopecuroides) and Burgundy Wedding Train Coleus. |
Japanese Forest Grass (Hakonechloa macra)
is another stunning grass to pair Chrysanthemums.

Wow! I like these combinations! Honestly, I am not a fan of orange, yellow, and brown. But you showed some great ways to mix them with other colors. Thank you!!!
Beautiful combinations!
Thanks for stopping by! I love the summer flower colors, but when cool fall weather comes, it's somehow fitting that flower colors do some adjusting as well.
Love your mums. Their exhibition is held in autumn here in our zone 10b. Yours are looking as good as they can be.
I love mums - they're so bright and cheery just as everything else is beginning to wind down. But they look best in combination with other plants - and your combos are terrific.
